How appropriate that spiders start draping webs in late September and are still busy keeping house in October---as though decorating for Halloween. For all I know, it's no accident ---perhaps the spider season inspired the association of spiders with Halloween. Anyway, our backyard saw one particularly excellent day of spider webs in early October. It was early morning. There was moisture in the air and no breeze, so the webs had a little dew and were in perfect form. There were three large ones, but only two had good enough lighting to photograph.
